As the temperature headed toward the century mark in Hollister on Friday, San Benito High School has the misters on, water available throughout campus, various shady spots available, and many teachers are making their classrooms available during lunch. School nurse Tess Smith also shared the following information from the CDC on ways to beat the heat:
Starting September 5, San Benito High School is offering a general tutorial open to all students Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. in room 230. A teacher will be there to answer questions and provide homework support. Feel free to drop by.

San Benito High School conducted an earthquake (drop, cover and hold) and fire drill during 5th block Tuesday. This was only a drill and was conducted in cooperation with local law enforcement. All communication to and from the campus ceased during the drill. Thank you for your cooperation.
The English Learner Tutorial is open every day in Room 253 from 3:15-4:15 p.m. Students can work on homework, make up tests and quizzes, and use computers to complete assignments.

At the Aug. 22 Board of Trustees meeting, Principal Adrian Ramirez honored students who received scores of 3 or higher on three or more Advanced Placement exams. In the Spring of 2017, 96 students received an honor from the College Board for their success on their exams. Director of Educational Services Elaine Klauer noted that Baler students, for the first time, outperformed both the state and global passing percentage rates.

No reservations are required for this event. Students and parents from the entire community and from all over the South County region are welcomed.
