San Benito High School strives to provide meaningful support and services to students. The following programs and departments are available to all students, each providing the comprehensive staff support students need to reach their goals.
The mission of the AVID program is to close the achievement gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society. AVID provides an elective class with a curriculum focusing on writing, college and careers, strategies for success, and critical reading. AVID students are expected to maintain a C or better in all their classes, as well as display good citizenship, to remain in the program.
Baler Ed Foundation
The mission of the Baler Ed Foundation is to provide resources through community partnerships and to support and enhance educational programs and opportunities in the San Benito High School District. 831-261-0884
Provides students with information relating to college, scholarships, financial aid, military service, and job opportunities.
English Learner Program
English Learners at San Benito High School are placed appropriately in English Language Arts and English Language Development (ELD) courses based on English proficiency level. The goal for all English Learners is to develop the language skills necessary to actively participate in all classes. We offer daily after school tutorial in room 175. Please contact JoAnne Zuniga-Kaplansky at 637-5831 ext. 176 for more information regarding tutoring and parent DELAC meetings.
The library is open every school day, providing students a quiet place to study, do homework, or pursue their own research. Also houses a computer lab for student use.
The Migrant Education Program provides services to high school students as well as our Out of School Youth. These services provide our migrant youth information, guidance, and education affording them an opportunity to make better decisions and/or choices regarding their future.
Services regarding grade changes, enrollment, transcripts, and more are available at our Registrar’s office.
Club Ed Tutoring Program
Club Ed offers private tutoring for all grades, and all subjects.
